From
childhood he revealed innate artistic abilities: the first

The Architecture career in Barcelona begins, but in the end he makes
the final decision to devote himself completely to painting.
His stay in Madrid where he is a finalist for the Rome Scholarship,
awarded by the Spanish Academy of Fine Arts in Rome. From that
moment his relationship with Italy will be continuous and intense.
Artistically, he has been trained working in the cities of Rome,
Milan, Florence and Venice, obtaining numerous awards in important
and prestigious international painting competitions and receiving
unanimous approval from audiences and critics.
Artist of solid academic formation, Ricardo Asensio during his
extensive career, in his work two periods can be distinguished: on
the one hand the figuration, which covers the beginning of his work
and the second, where he has evolved towards more abstract
references. His interest in research with new materials (works in
which he uses mixed techniques with oil, acrylic, acids, pigments
and resins) getting spontaneous creations with themes about the
"cosmos" of marked expressionism. "Il pittore-poeta dell'infinito"

He has participated in Biennials and Contemporary Art Fairs, and in
