To celebrate the 800th anniversary of the
foundation of Basilica of S. Andrea, Vercelli brightened its
most important church in 2019 with a great red light, the town
was proud to show the Magna Charta Libertatum for the first time
in Italy. This exhibition took place in ARCA complex, an ancient
church with beautiful frescos of 1400. This document belongs to
Hereford Cathedral and established for the first time the
principle that everybody, including the king, was subject to the
law. As Pope legate and mentor of the king Henry III, the
Italian prelate Guala Bicchieri from Vercelli contributed in the
manuscript of Magna Charta review until the 1217 definitive
version exposed today in Vercelli. Two years later, in 1219,
Guala Bicchieri started the construction of the Basilica of
Sant'Andrea, which is considered one of the most important
Gothic churches in Italy. Visitors can also admire the
eucharistic knife from Milan Castello Sforzesco used during
catholic celebrations, the medieval codes called “Biscioni”
which represent the university establishment in Vercelli, some
beautiful medals decorated with fantastic scenes. In the last
room it’s possible to admire the Guala Bicchieri’s bonnet,
property of Palazzo Madama (Turin), objects and portraits,
codes, papers that show the link between Magna Charta, the town
of Vercelli and cardinal Guala Bicchieri, a great man that
transformed its city in a great artistic place. . |

MERRY CHRISTMAS FROM VERCELLI SERIES
This portfolio includes some Christmas images captured in this
month in Vercelli - Italy with original lights on christmas tree
in the main square, Piazza Cavour (pictures 2,3,4,5,6) and
various decorations around the city (pictures 7,8,12) realized
by Atena group. All other pictures are decorations in the
streets. |

.MOUNTAINS SCULPTURES
SERIES
This portfolio deals with the photos of the sculptures
created by the Italian artist Giangiuseppe Barmasse actually
living in Valtournenche Valle d’Aosta. These artworks have been
realized during the celebration the 150th anniversary of the
first two ascents of the Matterhorn, from 10 to 19 July 2015 at
Breuil-Cervinia Valtournenche. These sculptures represent
Jean-Antoine Carrel an Italian mountain climber and guide. He
had made climbs with Edward Whymper and was his rival when he
attempted to climb the Matterhorn for the first time. There are
expressions of great adventure but at the same time throes of
death, pain, apprehension. Opposite sensations in the file n°6
with the expression of happiness in the Swiss climbers after
conquering Matterhorn. |

Stefania Grasso was born in Vercelli Italy in 1977.
She is an Italian biologist specialized in Microbiology. She started
to photograph in 1990. In 2006 among 1172 photographers she won the
4th price in a nature competition in Valle d’Aosta. Her favourite
themes are travel photography, nature, landscapes and arts with
photos of churches and monuments.
She has gained some prices in contests related to
nature and arts and several covers for rewievs, Markos but also
fotografare.com, N-photography, Photography Masterclass, Landscape
Photography magazine. Some of her portfolios have been selected by
CNN and National Geographics Italia. In July a book Himmelblau
published in Germany and Scotland will contain other her pictures of
Cervino with clouds.
Recently some her pictures of mountain donkeys have
been mentioned as editor choice for National Geographics and took
part at the theme “Biennale di Venezia “ 2019 for World of Art
Magazine with Valtournenche pictures. She is an author and published
by herself phonebooks about travel and landscapes available on
Amazon, “Sensazioni di viaggio” and “Di te ha detto il mio cuore”.
She is available for travel reportages, events and
portraitures. She actually collaborates with Italian Mused app, a
cultural application to promote Italian tourism.
