         Grazyna Tarkowska was born in Poland, in the family of the
         famous filmmaker Andrei Tarkovsky. She have studied Fine Arts
         at the Nicolaus Copernicus University in Torun, where in 1987,
         she graduated as a painter and master of fine arts. She lives and
         works in France. Her main activity is painting. She works on various
         techniques such as: oil painting, acrylic on canvas, cardboard
         or paper and painting on silk. For years, she has expressed
         herself through sculptures. She builds monumental sculptures
         in reinforced concrete, as well as small shapes in iron and resin,
         patinated or gilded by hand in plaster or clay. She also expresses
         herself with drawings and poetry. Her favorite themes are faces,
         the human body and nature. Her landscapes sometimes turn to
         lyrical abstraction. Through the faces and especially the eyes, she






















                                                              tries to show emotions and human feelings until reaching Soul!
                                                              She has been the subject of various art critics in Poland, Italy and
                                                              France. She received the honorary scholarship from the Ministry of
                                                              Culture and Arts in Poland after her graduation. In the year 2003,
                                                              she received the Grand Prize of Visual Arts and Contemporary
                                                              Literature from the International Heraldry Academy ‘’Il Marzocco‘’
                                                              of the city of Florence. The following year, the Grand Prix of the
                                                              Maremma of the Academy “Gli Etruchi” of Livorno and 1st Prize
                                                              of “Abssoluto Stranieri” of the International Academy “Santa Rita”
                                                              of Turin in Italy. In the year 2006, she won the 1st Prize awarded
                                                              by the Polish Senate, for the contest organized for the 25th
                                                              anniversary of the introduction of martial law in Poland.
