New Life Forms: Petra de Nijs is primarily inspired by the new
life forms discovered recently in the great depths of various
oceans as well as under the microscope. In addition, she has
explored such themes as genetic engineering and technological
advances in her work for years.

These subjects have found their way into her new series, “New
life Forms”. They are computer-manipulated images of deep-
sea creatures. It is a combination of high-tech and nature.
