Sinikka Elfving is a Nordic painter. She is born in Finland,
lives and works in Norway. In her Art she uses symbols
found in Nature. In that way her art becomes lyrical and
spiritual expressionistic. She paints scenes created of
her own imaginary landscapes. She has participated in
many International Art fairs, Biennales and exhibitions
in museums and galleries in two continents, Europe
and USA. She has received numerous international Art
Prices. Her art is published in International Artbooks,
gatalogues, and magazines and online.
In the works of Sinikka Elfving there is a great
spirituality with notes and contents of great visual
emotion, a singular Nordic expressionism motivated
by her particular inner need, to communicate
through the canvas, her memories, her life spent at
the service of society remaining highly influenced
by it. Everything is expressed in an elegant form of
gesture and composition modulating the color of
the material through its personal creative freedom,
thus creating works with the strong visual impact
and communitarian visions closely linked to her
operations. Therefore those of our Finnish painter
Sinikka creates fades and formulations of recurring
scenes revisited and depicted in new evocative
forms, focusing a resolutive dialog with her figures
hidden by a spiritual symbolism deliberately distorted
in the descriptive contours of the figure wandering
in the garden of Eden decorated with flowers and
ancestral symbols, a painting with strong emotional
character which wants to express itself in distress
expressed symbolically with chromatic accentuation
and extreme sign deformation, sometimes expressed
with strong incisiveness of color, sometimes evoking
silent surreal scenes with vogue references to a
timbre of excotism, forerunner of a current society
that falters. (Francesco Chetta, publisher)
