The Museum of Modern Art serves as a global hub,
connecting people from all walks of life to contemporary
art. Established in 1929 by three visionary women under
an educational charter, MoMA has become a dynamic
space for artistic exploration, creativity, and learning.
Dedicated to fostering innovation, MoMA curates and
preserves an exceptional collection that showcases the
depth and diversity of modern and contemporary art.
Each year, millions of visitors engage with its thought-
provoking exhibitions and participate in enriching onsite
and online programs.
The museum also maintains a distinguished library,
archives, and conservation laboratory - recognized as
leading international research centers - while advancing
scholarship and publishing initiatives that shape the
discourse on art. Under the leadership of Glenn D. Lowry,
who has served as The David Rockefeller Director since
1995, MoMA continues to champion artistic excellence.
Its six curatorial departments specialize in various media,
including Architecture & Design, Drawings & Prints,
Film, Media & Performance, Painting & Sculpture, and
Photography, ensuring that every artistic form finds a
home within its walls.
