SAULIUS VALIUS
Lives and works in Vilnius, Lithuania
http://www.sauliusvalius.lt
Born in 1958, Saulius Valius was primarily inspired by the
1980s. The art sphere of the 1980s was characterized by a
longing to grow and reinforce itself, as a response to the
many tensions of the previous decade.
As the 20th century came to an end (or neared an
unpredictable beginning), as humanity did continue to
exist – in its beau ideal and its madness – our civilization
flowering with new, unexpected blossoms or freezing in a
scary grimace in a small patch of Earth – Lithuania, soon
another source of freedom erupted. It’s as real as it is
incredible - infinitely refreshing but also intoxicating.
