Carla Kleekamp is a contemporary Dutch artist whose works
include etchings, collages, watercolors and drawings. In her work
can be seen the oppression and depletion of nature by man. Both
in graphics and in drawing the pure line for Carla remains the most
important means. In the style of the old Chinese painters, she tries
to give the void in her drawings the dynamics and rhythm to play
an important role. Ms. Kleekamp has been included in Art Tour
International 2020 edition publication of artist of the decades’
environmental conservation and human rights issues.
“My work consists mainly of etchings, collages, water paintings, and
drawings. The making of these is, for me, a possibility to express
my deepest feelings. In my work, the pure line remains, for me, the
most important medium. Both a scholarship for a visit to Japan and
lessons of a Chinese teacher has been beneficial in this aspect.
