Through the color to the divine: Painting inspiration makes
Leonardo Ciccarelli create evocative, faded scenes from the
soul using colors to express his subjective visual perception.
Oblivion and recollection communicate with each other in a
successful pictorial wordplay, thereby letting an ideal world
emerge, in which light, the main character, nobly stands out.
The universe of the soul is narrated by Ciccarelli’s mastery and
delicate technique. The resulting color harmony creates feelings
of astonishment and admiration in the watcher, who is struck by
the effect of the fading light at a first glance and ends up enjoying
Ciccarelli’s elegant style. Ciccarelli’s painting language stands
out with its inherently refined technique and unprecedented
glorification of light. However, what captures our attention is the
extraordinary understanding between presence and absence,
abstraction and reality, pictorial hints and extreme conciseness.
Visual essentiality is one of the trademarks of the artist from
the Marches, who has a tendency to make dynamic strokes. In
the artist’s creative mind, the universe possesses a harmonious

the absence, marked by peaks of light, converge in ascetic

of Leonardo Ciccarelli appears to be studded by a meaningful
