interdisciplinary artist Sandra Poulson (Angolan, b. 1995)
presents her first museum exhibition, featuring a newly
commissioned large-scale installation that delves into the
complexities of Angolan identity, tradition, and socio-political
structures. Taking an archaeological approach, Poulson
examines cultural symbols, codes, and objects, revealing
how histories and oral traditions shape contemporary life.
Her sculptural practice acts as a form of investigation, tracing
narratives that have been passed down through generations
while questioning the forces that influence global political
systems. Focusing on everyday elements such as vernacular
garments and domestic furniture, Poulson highlights the
interplay between heritage and lived experience, shedding light
on the nuances of daily existence in Luanda. She incorporates
