Wendy Cohen is a Sydney-based artist who as earned BFA and
MFA degrees. She actively exhibits her work at the New York
Art Expo, Art Spectrum Miami, Art San Diego and The Other Art
Fair in Sydney. Wendy creates innovate virtuosic mixed media
paintings that communicate the harmony and beauty of the
world. Her aim is to convey her own poetry and harmonious
rhythm to her paintings, developing playful imagery with an
emotive and inventive sensibility. Her practice depicts the
ebb and flow of movement that rotates with an interplay of
various shapes, lines and tones of colors that relates to the
elements portrayed in urban and natural environments that
are communicated in an abstracted language. With a sense
of curiosity, spontaneity and discovery, a whimsical genre is
created those results in multi layers of interesting marking and
sweeping brushstrokes as well as the alchemy of a variation of
colors. Observation, intuition and imagination are key to Wendy’s
process as she responds to the interconnection of the world, but
most importantly she welcomes the viewer to participate in the
wonderment of her paintings translated onto the canvas with the
rhythm of a musical genre. Wendy’s work has been described
as “a celebration of life” by critics. Her paintings are known for
their vibrant colors and playful imagery that evoke a sense of
joy and wonder in viewers. Wendy’s unique style has earned
her a loyal following among art enthusiasts around the world.
