Up to now, the best of all has been my trip to Venice with
her, i.e. I was the reason for us going there! “The long way
home” was what she called it. We travelled with a few
props and accessories and an assistant -- I was stowed in a
suitcase in the plane’s hold and she and the assistant each
had a seat above me in the plane. It was really crazy, but she
was determined: the waterbus vaporetto, St. Mark’s Square,
Cemetery Island, Biennale, gondola trips, returning to St. Mark’s
Square again and again! … (Excerpt)
